Our Pastor

Kevin Werner was born and grew up in Green Garden Township just north of Peotone, Illinois. He attended Peotone schools and graduated from high school in 1983. He then attended Concordia University-Wisconsin in Mequon, Wisconsin and graduated in 1987 with a Pre-Seminary Degree in Biblical Languages and a minor in music with a concentration in organ performance.

Kevin then attended Concordia Theological Seminary in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and graduated in 1991 with a Masters of Divinity. He did his vicarage at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Windom, Minnesota. In 1991 Pastor Kevin Werner was called to Bethel Lutheran Church in Round Lake, Minnesota. He served there until April of 2002. In April of 2002, he accepted the call to be the Pastor of Risen Savior Lutheran Church in Manteno, Illinois.

On November 24, 2001, he married Sheryl Whiting, and Anna Grace Werner was born on December 8, 2002.
